I was single for 5 years before I met my man at age 35. I only met men who wanted my fun "energy". I changed ONE thing that had a cascading effect on my dating life in a small island famous for men who just want to date lot's of women.

Your brain has a filter. It’s called the RAS (Reticular Activating System). And it’s JOB is to filter things into your brain according to your beliefs.

So if you believe there are no available men that want a conscious committed relationship…

Guess what you’ll “see”?

All the non-available men who don’t want a relationship.

So what can you do?

This ⬇️

Start writing down the evidence that what YOU want is out there.

For example :

Look at all your married friends.
Look at people online who have the type of relationship you want.
Ask your couples friends how they found each other.

NOTICE THAT THE MEN WHO WANT RELATIONSHIPS ARE REALLY OUT THERE

Keep writing down all the positive evidence that they exist.

This will help flip your RAS switch to filter in what you DO want (ie. that emotionally available conscious man who wants a relationship long term 😊)

This is what inner child work looks at. How to hold the little version of you who was so afraid of mommy and daddy. Of things going wrong. The shouting. The loneliness.

And YOU can be there for her.

I still say hi to my little Nora often.
And tell her that it’s ok she is scared and lonely. That it’s normal to feel this when her dad or mom is not with her living in another country.

That flying alone at 3 yrs old is scary and that she did a great job and that it wasn’t right.

And that her parents did the best they could. That she grows up to live in a country with a lot of friends and that she doesn’t have to pretend to be a big girl anymore.

Inner child holding/healing/reparenting is being able to hold yourself in the moments when you feel like you are crumbling. That’s when she is the most scared and needs you the most.
